A live, local talk show created for East Bay veterans debuted in Contra Costa County on July 21.
The monthly talk show, “Veterans’ Voices,” will address the needs of East Bay veterans, including those in the San Ramon Valley, and feature a variety of guest speakers and discussions.
Hosted by Nathan Johnson, Contra Costa County’s veterans service officer, and partnered in production with Contra Costa Television and the Veterans Service Office, the show intends to give veterans in the area access to information and services available.
“Our county is home to more than 65,000 veterans, and we work hard to reach out to as many as possible,” Johnson said. “By using TV and the Web, we hope to tap into a potential audience that might not have stopped by our office or picked up the phone and called.”
The show is funded by a grant from the California Department of Veterans Affairs, which recognizes innovative outreach efforts to meet the needs of veterans in the community.
The show will air live every third Monday of the month on CCTV, the county’s community access station.
Viewers can access the live stream online and ask questions during the show via email, phone or online chat.
The show will also be uploaded online and replayed on CCTV Wednesday nights at 11 p.m. and Saturday mornings at 9 a.m.
