This particular story brought many old-timers back to the days of attending games in their youth because high school football games are something special. Talk about the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat! The fun of the game in high school is in the experience of extreme emotions. And since San Ramon Valley was favored, it was probably harder for them to lose and more exciting for Monte Vista to win. But the students from the two schools are not really enemies. They were opponents for the night, aided and abetted in their emotions by fireworks, band music, cheerleaders and the chill night air.
