Monte Vista men's basketball team had a great season finishing league with a record of 10 and 2 with a first place finish in the EBAL for the third year in a row. The team continued on to the semifinal round of NCS where it defeated San Ramon Valley in the first round and San Leandro in the second round. In an exciting game, Monte Vista fell short against De La Salle, losing 32 to 47 in the NCS semifinals played at St. Mary's College.

Monte Vista women's soccer team finished in first place of the EBAL for the fourth year in a row. The team members finished their EBAL season undefeated with 8 wins and 4 ties. Monte Vista dealt with a tough loss to cross-town rival San Ramon Valley High, 2 to 1, in the NCS semifinals.
Monte Vista High School men's soccer team finished the EBAL with a record of 3 wins, 4 ties and 4 losses. Although the team did not finish at the top of EBAL as it did last year, the members played some excellent soccer in a challenging league and will have 14 returning seniors next year.
Adidas chooses Alamo player
Alexandra Conti of Alamo was one of only 96 female youth soccer players in the nation selected to attend the adidas Elite Soccer Program (ESP) 2008 that was held Feb. 21-24 at Cal Poly Pomona. Adidas ESP is a sanctioned U.S. Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program that identifies the country's best high school-aged players and provides them with a top-level, on-field training program along with a diverse off-field educational curriculum.
An estimated 60 coaches from colleges, universities and professional teams were expected to scout the players attending adidas ESP.
