The Frinks return to the states from Africa

The ministry adventures of Pam and Rory Frink continue as they have moved back to the United States.
I met the Frinks several years ago when I wrote about their ministry to foster children in Livermore. If I recall correctly, there were about 10 kids living in their home, which was the remodeled original Shepherd’s Gate shelter on Portola Avenue in Livermore. Rory retired from his career as a Safeway executive so they could work together with the children.
Over the next few years, they planted a church in Livermore and then were called to Africa (a common interest for us).
They spent a year in Rwanda teaching and coaching pastors and then spent the past two years in Uganda serving orphans and widows as the leaders of a children’s home. They succeeded the founding directors there.
Rory wrote in an email, “We love Africa and the wonderful people we served but due to health concerns with repeated cases of malaria, we made the hard decision to return back to The States.”
While visiting their daughter, Jane, in the Dallas/Fort Worth area they met fellow Foursquare pastors Eric and Susan Hulet. Susan founded Mercy House, a home for young single mothers. Their hearts connected and the Frinks became the house pastors for the ministry and now are sharing their home with young women they mentor.
The program is designed to help young mothers finish their education, learn parenting skills and become confident they can support their babies and themselves.
From Livermore to Rwanda to Uganda and now to Texas.
San Ramon’s gain is Dublin’s loss after Sunset Development Co. announced that SAP will relocate its regional offices from Dublin to Bishop Ranch in San Ramon.
SAP has been operating at 1 Sybase Drive in Dublin since it merged with Sybase in 2010. Sybase was the leading corporate citizen in Dublin for many years.
SAP will be the first major new tenant in the former AT&T office complex since Sunset bought out AT&T last year and set about refurbishing the building. When initially built, it was the largest single office building west of the Mississippi River. AT&T remains the single largest tenant in the space.
The Sunset team has re-purposed the meeting and dining space at AT&T so it can serve as a conference center for tenants as well as allowing a choice of food service options without leaving the building. One of the restaurants in the AT&T days overlooked the artificial lake on the west side and was scenic that it was a desirable location for high school proms and other special events.
SAP leased 150,000 square feet that it will occupy in 2017.
