On Saturday night around 10 p.m., there were 3 cop cars, a sherrif's van and a helicopter near the Blackhawk shops on Tassajara at the intersection near the Arco station. Does anyone know what that was all about?

There was an SUV that would not stop for an officer. The SUV then was traveling up Camino Tass, in speeds topping 80mph. Because of the conditions he spun out right at the Arco on Camino Tass, jumped out and ran into the creek area behind Arco. After about 15 minutes he was caught. The helicopter was not able to be used because of the weather conditions...but the Police dog was brought in from San Ramon...but not used. Not sure why the teenager did not stop in the first place, but he went to jail.

So the trees come down today,& everybody is invited to gather 'round to watch " The Murder of the Trees. " How about an annual celebration ? The dog of the week has had more attention than historic Redwoods.

It seems every week this Police Log comes out there is at least one accident at or near the intersection of Camino Tassajara & Crow Canyon Blvd.
Has the Town done any type of analysis as to why there is such, what appears to be, a very high incidence of traffic accidents there?

Obviously it is a busy intersection; the wait is long. Is it too long? Is the timing system off? Someone could do a study & analysis of each accident to develop common characteristics that might relate to several of accidents. Watch out, though, that could put the Town in the position of "...profiling..."!!

I wish we in Alamo had this service. I also wish we had incorporated.

"at least one accident at or near the intersection of Camino Tassajara & Crow Canyon Blvd"

This may be an accident prone junction but, in the case of the high speed SUV chase it has to be largely coincidence - you can hardly blame the intersection. Given it's proximity to Blackhawk, and playing the stereotype/profiling game, maybe it is just a case of too many multi-tasking type A people paying too little attention to over-powered vehicles.

To keep the trafic moving, maybe they could take away the traffic lights and put in a roundabout? (I think there is enough space).

The SUV chase began at Greenbrook and Sycamore...the 19yr did not stop at a stoplight....and then was drunk....please check yesterdays paper for details!

Yesterday, Jan. 10th between 11:30 and 12:30 their was a helicopter continuously circling over Pleasanton for about 40 minutes. It was so loud and disruptive I wandered about the necessity of it. Couldn't they at least have changed their circle pattern occassionally??? They circled right over one small area incessantly. We here on the ground are trying to go about our business. It is impossible to teach an outdoor class or just get some badly needed RR with the length of that noise going on.
