Rumors have been flying in the Greenbrook neighborhood of Danville of two armed men knocking on a door, then bursting in with guns and ransacking the house.
Police confirmed today that two men indeed forced their way into a home in the 100 block of Waterman Circle last Thursday evening, but said other residents have nothing to fear.
"The important thing to note is that it was not a random house," said Investigation Sgt. Allan Shields. "It was targeted."
Two men went into the home with handguns, said Shields, and the victims reported the incident at 9:49 p.m.
"They forced their way into the home," he said. "They were there for a short time and left with property."
No one was injured, he added.
He did not release any more details, saying it is still an open investigation.
