At Tuesday night's regularly scheduled meeting, the San Ramon Valley Unified School District will likely decide to reduce hours or eliminate some positions for the classified staff.
Items impacted by budget reductions have brought crowds, including the March 9 meeting where the board decided to raise class sizes to 28 and eliminate counselors and other staff, for a total of 136.45 full-time employees as well as two administrators and two assistant principals.
Over the next two years, SRVUSD is looking at a $30-million shortfall due to state cuts to education. The district's budget forecast isn't expected to change for tonight's meeting, but it may be different after the governor's revised budget is expected to be released in May.
Open session meeting begins at 7 in the Education Center board room located at 699 Old Orchard Drive. For more information, call 552-5500 or visit www.srvusd.k12.ca.us.
