As current Vice Mayor and an eight-year councilmember, I am honored to continue as your councilmember to help keep Danville special. As a first term councilmember this past year, Robert is equally honored to protect Danville "for all of the great reasons we moved here." We hope that our unopposed election is affirmation of the efforts of the entire Danville Town Council to respond to your vision of our amazing town -- a place for launching new business start-ups, retaining the character of our historic downtown, supporting generous fundraising efforts, and leading the organizations that enrich our lives.
It is evident by the number of applications received for Danville commissions that Danville residents are involved and passionate about their community. In response, the entire council interviews every applicant to get creative ideas, and we are awed by the services and accomplishments of our citizens.
As a Council, we serve on numerous regional organizations to promote Danville's needs -- transportation (Caldecott Tunnel, I-580 lane improvements, and TrafFIX buses to relieve school congestion), solid waste and recycling, disaster planning, water quality, fire and medical response, school liaisons, joint park authorities (Hap Magee, East Bay Regional Park Districts), state and national league committees, chambers and convention business outreach, and numerous internal committees to address parks, planning, and pavement. Thank you to so many of you who work or volunteer with these agencies to help us understand issues and respond with timely input on your behalf.
We pledge to continue to listen to you -- to take your message to regional bodies, to keep your family safe within Danville's town limits, and to help you leverage your personal outreach in business, family, and personal efforts. Thank you for this opportunity to serve for the next four years and to share your enthusiasm for the Town of Danville!
