Two young men were arrested Friday after an early morning argument turned violent.
Alamo resident Raymond Shulman, 18, and San Ramon resident Michael Kosak, 24, were arrested on charges of assault with a deadly weapon after brandishing a golf club and a hatchet at five people.
"Four guys and a lady went to the house of someone else for the purpose of getting in a fight with someone inside," said Lt. Dan Pratt of the San Ramon Police Department. Pratt said he believes the five were probably arguing about a girl.
After banging on the suspects' front door, Kosak and Shulman engaged in a fight on the front lawn.
"One of the people that came to the house was struck with a hatchet and has pretty serious injuries," Pratt said. "He was struck in the upper left shoulder and is still receiving treatment." The victim's name is not being released.
The victim's friends drove him to San Ramon Regional Medical Center where police questioned him shortly after the initial call about the fight. Pratt said he victim is currently in Davis receiving treatment.
Kosak and Shulman are out on bail and according to Shulman's attorney, Jason Runckel, the two are waiting to hear whether the District Attorney will file charges.
