A telephone town hall meeting is a joke. McNerney should hold live town hall meetings and not hide behind the phone.

Jerry McNerney continues to be District 11's public enemy #1. This is a congressman who voted to flush nearly 1 trillion taxpayer dollars down the drain. If the economist John Maynard Keynes knew what atrocities are being committed in his name, he would rise up out of his grave in a rage.

McNerney continues to be a supporter of the 2010 health care reform law which is probably the most damaging legislation ever to be passed into law by our elected national officials. Shame on you Jerry McNerney. Your irresponsible voting record speaks for itself. There is nothing you could say in a town hall that would justify your record in Congress.

Really TL ? Are you aware we are the only industrialized nation (except South Africa) that does not have cradle to grave government pooled healthcare insurance? I think not. Why has every other civilized nation decided their citizens shall not risk bankruptcy due to a bad cat scan? Anyone who knows anything in the healthcare business knows the status quo is not sustainable. What rock are you sleeping under? Get over the FOX news stuff and get the facts. You don't have to risk losing EVERYTHING you worked for just because your kid got cancer....wake up to the reality!

@LMP: If you really cared enough to leave your computer and get involved with politics, you would know that Jerry McNerney DOES have face to face meetings with his constituents. I know because I've attended and spoken with him directly.

Think our forefathers wanted a Big Government that provided "cradle to grave healthcare insurance"? No!
It's not because universal healthcare is a "bad" idea, it's because some things (many things) should be off-limits to government.
Government should always be treated as a "monster" (a necessary evil) that needs to be kept within severe limitations, boundaries, and controls. They knew that unchecked Government would chip and steal away at all of our precious liberties, until we were "slaves" to it (again).
It doesn't matter how "nice sounding" the intended purpose of the next new idea is, if it expands government beyond its initial limited boundaries it will come back to haunt and eventually destroy us. It's only a matter of time.
Government should not be in the healthcare business at all!
