Air district announces 14th Spare the Air day for Thursday

No logs will be burning in the Bay Area Thursday as another Spare the Air Day has been announced by the Bay Area Air Quality Management District, the 14th for this winter season.

The wood-burning ban includes indoors and outdoors in all nine Bay Area counties and will be effective for 24 hours, air district officials said.

The ban includes the burning of wood and other solid fuels in fireplaces, wood stoves and inserts, pellet stoves, outdoor fire pits, and other wood burning devices.

More information regarding air quality forecasts and wood burning bans can be found at www.sparetheair.org.

Sure thing. I know of at least one that will be burning, and it'll be a big one. Once again, BAAQMD is calling on all Brown Shirts to tattle on their fellow citizens.

Seemed to be pretty smog-free and clear last night in the valley...

Maybe they need to separate the entire Bay Area into "zones" so that we won't have to comply with pollution standards in Oakland, Richmond, or San Francisco. Those places and others are gross polluters. The SR Valley is not. Leave us alone, Air dudes!

Once again bureaucracy invents a need and then steps in to regulate it!

If I smell smoke Im going to sniff you out and report you to the authorities.... there is a reward isn't there? Is the BAAQMD a group of appointed like minded enviro nazis or are they elected?
