San Ramon Valley Fire crews battled a house fire just south of Stone Valley Road Wednesday night, according to reports.
Six engines, two trucks, a paramedic and five overhead officers responded to a three-story home at 41 Hagen Oaks Court, said Fire Marshall Christina Jamison. Residents reported heavy black smoke around 11:20 p.m. and told officials they believed the fire began in the kitchen.
East Bay MUD and PG&E were also on scene to shut down electricity, add pressure to hydrants and control traffic along Stone Valley Road, Jamison added. The fire, which moved "extremely fast," was finally extinguished at 1:15 a.m.
The Hagen Oaks residence is completely destroyed and the pool house behind the home was also damaged. Jamison estimated the total property and content lost to be $800,000.
The vegetation fire threatened other houses on nearby Ardendale Court, Jamison said, but firefighters prevented them from catching fire. She said, however, that there may be some heat damage to those homes.
One firefighter suffered minor injuries, and the home's two residents were displaced and have found other accommodations. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
