Motorists on San Ramon Valley Boulevard are advised of increased traffic near the Danville border as crews begin the process of grading for the Quail Ridge subdivision. The 459 acre KB Homes project is located on the Elworthy property near Sunset Color nursery and the Danville Congregational Church.
Approved by the Town Council in 2008, Quail Ridge will put 84 single family homes and 13 multi-family apartments on the site; 95 percent of the acreage will be used for trails and open space. Grading began Wednesday morning on the flatter 12-acre portion site adjacent to San Ramon Valley Boulevard, drivers should be cautious as trucks enter and leave the site.
"Danville is an incredibly scenic and thriving community, and we are proud to add Quail Ridge to our line-up of new home communities in the East Bay," Chris Apostolopoulos, president of KB Home's Bay Area division, told reporters.
Work will take place weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Principal Planner David Crompton said grading should take several months.
