Danville council to hear update on Hartz project

Regular meeting to convene at 7:30 p.m. at Town Meeting Hall

The Danville Town Council is set to receive an update on the North Hartz Avenue Beautification Project and East Bay Municipal Utility District pipeline replacement Tuesday night.

The regular council meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m. at the Town Meeting Hall in downtown Danville.

Council members will also hear presentations from the planning commission and the recreation services manager.

The council will consider adopting the town's 2012-13 audited comprehensive annual financial report, and members will also debate making a two-year appointment to the Iron Horse Corridor Management Program Advisory Committee.

After the town council meeting adjourns, council members will convene as the Danville Disaster Council to receive public comment, consider approval of previous meeting minutes and hear updates on upcoming activities and events.

The best thing we could do to beautify downtown would be to demolish and take away the eyesore that was once the Danville Hotel. An empty lot would be preferable and less likely to be vandalized or cause harm.
