San Ramon man dies in Alameda County, Dublin man killed in Pleasant Hill

Two local men died in separate motorcycle crashes just hours apart and miles away on Saturday.

San Ramon resident Lloyd Devaraj was killed in unincorporated Alameda County after his motorcycle collided with a car near Lake Chabot Regional Park Saturday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol and Alameda County Sheriff's Office, Coroner's Bureau.

The wreck that killed Devaraj, 34, occurred on Redwood Road just before 3:30 p.m., according to the CHP.

Less than four hours later, Dublin motorcyclist Randall Black was involved in an ultimately fatal crash on Interstate 680 near Willow Pass Road in Pleasant Hill, according to the CHP and Contra Costa County Coroner's Office.

Black, 53, died at a hospital after his southbound motorcycle was involved in a collision just after 7 p.m. Saturday, the CHP stated.

Additional details about both crashes were not immediately available.

Lloyd was an aquaintace of mine. He was an incredibly friendly person, and will be sorely missed. The accident was caused by a car losing control in a corner and crossing into Lloyd's lane.
