Local 8th-graders pack grocery bags to benefit food bank

St. Isidore School eighth-graders helped pack grocery bags at Safeway in Alamo last month to benefit the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano.

Students from the Danville Catholic school filled more than 370 bags during the Nov. 23 event, and Safeway has invited the children back to participate in another packing session before the food drive ends this Monday, according to school board secretary Leanna Parker.
