Front Row Theater to screen Oscar winner 'Life is Beautiful'

The Front Row Theater in San Ramon is hosting a screening of the Academy Award-winning Italian film "Life is Beautiful" on Friday.

The movie, from director/actor Roberto Benigni, centers on a Jewish bookkeeper, his wife and son living happily until the occupation of Italy by German troops during the 1930s forces them into a Jewish concentration camp. The father (Benigni) creates an elaborate game to shield his son from the horror of the camp.

"Life is Beautiful" will be shown this Friday at 7 p.m. at the theater on Bollinger Canyon Road. The screening costs $9, including refreshments. For more information, call 973-3343.
