Officials have released an updated work schedule for the downtown Danville water main replacement project.
The East Bay Municipal Utility District endeavor got underway on Monday, and crews will begin pipeline excavation this Thursday (Jan. 9), according to town representatives.
Initial construction will occur on eastbound Diablo Road between Hartz Avenue and Front Street, with work hours running from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays and 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Mondays. Two-way traffic will remain in effect on Diablo Road during construction, officials said.
The water-main replacement, which is set to wrap up in March, will also take place on Hartz Avenue.
Preparatory work will occur on Hartz Avenue this month, with pipeline excavation set to start in February, officials said. Driveways are expected to remain accessible along the work corridor.
Town reps ask motorists to drive with caution around the project area and anticipate minor delays.
