SRVUSD honors Classified Employees of the Year

Sherry McCarthy, office manager at Country Club Elementary, selected as district's top classified employee

The San Ramon Valley school district acknowledged some of its most outstanding and dedicated representatives with an award ceremony for its 2013-14 Classified Employees of the Year.

Scores of family members, friends, colleagues and school administrators attended the school board meeting in Danville to honor the 38 employees selected as this year's best. District officials recognized an employee from each school and district department.

Sherry McCarthy, office manager at Country Club Elementary School in San Ramon, took home the evening's highest honor, being named the district's Classified Employee of the Year. McCarthy has worked for the San Ramon Valley Unified School District since September 1989.

The other recipients were:

Roberto Bonilla, lead custodian at Alamo Elementary School with eight years of district service.

Stephanie Hitchcock, art specialist at Coyote Creek Elementary School with 1.5 years of district service.

Ann Shade, office manager at Creekside Elementary School with 5.5 years of district service.

Ann Marks, classroom paraprofessional at Golden View Elementary School with more than 13 years of district service.

Edwina Nuqui-Manela, office manager at Green Valley Elementary School with 9.5 years of district service.

Linn Ambrose, office manager at Greenbrook Elementary School with 26 years of district service.

Kamal Malani, crossing guard at Hidden Hills Elementary School with 3.5 years of district service.

Lynette Dunlap, instructional assistant-reading intervention at John Baldwin Elementary School with 9.5 years of district service.

Kim Tatum, library media coordinator at Live Oak Elementary School with 11.5 years of district service.

Linda Scanlon, office manager at Montair Elementary School with more than 21 years of service.

Joy Gath, office assistant at Montevideo Elementary School with 11.5 years of district service.

Nicole Telles, office manager at Neil Armstrong Elementary School with 21.5 years of service.

Michele Shaw, library media coordinator at Quail Run Elementary School with 13.5 years of service.

Sarah Ware, office assistant at Rancho Romero Elementary School with 25 years of district service.

Gregg Corsetti, lead custodian at Twin Creeks Elementary School with 4.5 years of service.

Della Verber, office manager at Vista Grande Elementary School with almost 16 years of district service.

Lisa Webster, school tech instructional assistant at Walt Disney Elementary School with 5.5 years of service.

Stephanie Oertel, library coordinator/clerk typist/noon duty supervisor at Charlotte Wood Middle School with 6 years of service.

Patricia Meenan, special education paraeducator at Diablo Vista Middle School with 14.5 years of service.

Sue Cliff, counselor technician at Gale Ranch Middle School with 20 years of district service.

Joan Trammell-Amon, special education paraeducator at Iron Horse Middle School with 13.5 years of service.

Cathy Fleming, special education paraeducator at Los Cerros Middle School with 17 years of service.

Bobby Prasad, custodian at Pine Valley Middle School with 7.5 years of service.

Denise True, office manager at Stone Valley Middle School with 21.5 years of service.

Gail Proctor, office manager at Windemere Ranch Middle School with 28 years of district service.

Cindy Fischer, office manager at California High School with 7 years of service.

Gayle Currie, school tech instructional assistant at Dougherty Valley High School with 16.5 years of district service.

Ray Tessendorf, custodian at Monte Vista High School with more than 9 years of service.

Cheryl Wurnitsch, secretary at San Ramon Valley High School with 11.5 years of service.

Kelly Long, office manager at Del Amigo High School, who started working in the district last September.

Kathleen Roth, child nutrition manager in the child nutrition department with 5.5 years of service.

Kathleen Warnlof, department secretary for educational services with 13 years of service.

Sandi Swindell, human resources specialist with 20 years with the district.

Chris Hamburger, of the maintenance/buildings and grounds department, with 2 years of service.

Scott Attenhofer, network specialist for computer support, with two years of service.

Tanya Meyers, special education department secretary, with 7.5 years of service.

Gigi Gines, transportation department secretary with 9.5 years of service.
