San Ramon police arrested two teenagers and are actively searching for two other people in connection with a residential burglary Monday.
A San Ramon man contacted police after he returned to his home on the 2600 block of Derby Drive around 8:45 a.m. and noticed the side gate was open, according to San Ramon Police Lt. Craig Stevens.
The resident went to close the gate and two male strangers ran past him out of the gate, got into a white Nissan Rogue parked outside the home and fled the scene, the lieutenant said.
According to Stevens, the resident saw two additional people run from the back of the house and climb over the fences.
Officers arrived soon arrived on scene and cleared the residence. Portions of the home were ransacked and several items were missing, Stevens said.
The two people who ran from the yard were located and arrested in a backyard on Tumbleweed Court a short time later, according to Stevens.
