Totally Trains exhibit opens in Danville

Museum of the San Ramon Valley hosts model train display

The Totally Trains museum exhibit is chugging along through Danville this summer. The exhibit is currently open for visitors to view and learn about the early days of the railroads and their significance to American history.

"Totally Trains-Models and Memorabilia" features the Museum of the San Ramon Valley's train collection, which includes freight and passenger train models pulled by diesel and steam engines from the late 19th and 20th centuries.

A scratch-built model of the former Danville SP Depot, which is now the home of the museum, will be displayed at the exhibit along with other replicas of historical buildings.

The museum is offering a family pass for $10 that can be used for daily visits to the museum for the duration of the Totally Trains display, according to organizers.

Now through Aug. 17, Totally Trains is open for viewing Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Sundays from 12-4 p.m. The Museum of the San Ramon Valley is located at 205 Railroad Ave. in Danville.

For more information, contact the museum at 837-3750.
