Danville golfer wins state tournament

Banke finishes two shots clear of pack at event held in Southern California

Danville golfer Sara Banke won the California Women's State Championship tournament last week.

The 2009 Monte Vista High graduate finished two strokes ahead of the runner-up in the event, held July 14-16 at the Ojai Valley Inn & Spa golf course in Ventura County.

Banke competed collegiality at UC Irvine, where she graduated this year.

The tournament was co-sponsored by the Pacific Women's Golf Association, the Women's Golf Association of Northern California and the Women's Southern California Golf Association.
