2.5-magnitude earthquake hits near Blackhawk

An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 2.5 struck an area near Blackhawk on Sunday afternoon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The quake was reported at 3:27 p.m. and struck about 6 miles east of the unincorporated community in Contra Costa County, according to the USGS.

The temblor had a depth of about 10 miles, according to the USGS.
