Danville dog park section to reopen next week

Canine Corral closure allowed town staff to re-seed area

Town of Danville maintenance staff re-seeded a section of the large dog area at the Canine Corral Dog Park at Hap Magee Ranch Park, and the section is due to reopen next week.

The fencing around the section will be removed by noon of Aug. 5, according to maintenance services supervisor Dave Casteel.

The area was re-seeded with Bermuda grass seed, which typically grows and establishes well during the summer months.

The dog park section has to be closed a total of nine weeks in order for the grass to become established.

Why didn't you simply install synthetic turf? It would have been fiscally responsible for the long term. The town re-sods annually. I am sure a local company would have offered to donate high quality materials sustaining 10-15 years of use.
