Police looking into possibility man's death related to Danville fight

The case is still under investigation, said police

A 20-year-old man's death on Tuesday might be linked to a fight in Danville over the weekend, said police.

Concord police received a report Tuesday at 4:22 p.m. about an unattended death in the 5000 block of Valley Crest Drive, according to Lt. Ivan Menchaca.

The man's name and cause of death has not been determined. Menchaca said it doesn't appear the man was shot or stabbed.

Detectives are working to determine whether the death is related to a fight in Danville that occurred over the weekend, said Danville police Sgt. Jason Haynes.

Haynes said few details are available about the fight, but it appears that guns and knives were not used.

He declined to discuss the case further, saying the investigation into the fight and any possible link to the death in Concord is ongoing.
