Danville, San Ramon collaborating on new entry sign

Northbound drivers to see town sign on San Ramon Valley Boulevard

The town of Danville and city of San Ramon have joint plans to install a new entry sign for drivers coming into Danville from the south.

The sign will be located at the south entry into Danville on San Ramon Valley Boulevard and will carry the distinctive oak tree logo, the town's official symbol based on the iconic Danville Old Oak Tree.

Danville, in a cooperative effort with San Ramon, will update the existing granite plinth that is currently standing and incorporate a new greeting sign with the tree logo.

Construction is set to take place in the fall of 2014 and should cause minimal effect on traffic in the area, according to Danville town officials.

Such a wonderful location for an entrance sign.
I am sure there are so many non resident visitors that use that hideous frontage road for "entering" Danville, what with the gorgeous views of Chateau California and Gulag Ellworthy to the west and freeway soundwalls to the east.

Great going, money wasters. Lets come up with some more stupid "beautification" projects that have such great public benefit.

Thank goodness Danville will have hand in the choice of a new sign!!!! That ugly gravestone with the corner chipped that San Ramon has is horrible !! How did that ever get approved ???? It slipped by us and we do try and stay in touch :(

It will be the same block of granite but with the Danville logo on the south side. So as you go north on SRV Blvd passing into Danville you will see the Danville logo not the San Ramon logo. Danville is paying for the change of logos.

The article wasn't very clear but the existing block of granite on SRV Blvd just south of the boarder with Danville with the San Ramon logo on both sides will be modified. The logo on the south side will be replaced with a Danville logo.

And here is what they should chisel into it:

"Welcome to Danville.
p.s.- We're FULL"

I sure hope a few teens have a say in the decision. They're way cool and seem to come up many excellent ideas! VIVA TEENS! VIVA!
