Baseball ready for challenged kids

Danville A's Challenger Baseball for kids ages 6 to 22 with disabilities is gearing up for its 2007 season, said coach Frank Elliott.

"In Challenger games, every player bats, runs and scores in each inning," said Elliott. "And we have teenage 'buddies' assigned to all players."

The Danville A's play teams from San Ramon, Tassajara Valley, Livermore, Pleasanton and Dublin. The games begin at 1:30 p.m. every Sunday at the Dublin Sports Park and last about 90 minutes. The season runs from March 25 to June 10.

Elliott is taking signups now. Interested parents of kids with disabilities can contact him by phoning 736-5373 or by e-mail at f.j.elliott@scglobal.net.
