E-waste collection next weekend

Get rid of your old electronics the environmentally ethical way, for free at the Sycamore Valley park and ride March 31-April 1. Universal Waste Management will collect old computer equipment, TVs, VCRs, DVD players, telephone and cell equipment and more from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at the parking lot at the intersection of Sycamore Valley Road and Camino Ramon off I-680.

Throwing away electronics is illegal and causes toxic chemicals like lead, mercury and arsenic to seep into the ground and waterways if not disposed of properly. Walnut Creek is holding a waste event at the same times at 1750 Heather Drive.

To find out more about the Danville or the Walnut Creek events and what they will accept, call 1-888-832-9839 or visit www.unwaste.com.
