Danville soccer pro is Dy-na-mo

Chris Wondolowski, a graduate of St. Isidore Catholic School and De La Salle High School, scored a key goal in the semifinal game for Houston Dynamo against Mexican Club Champion, Pachuca, in the CONCACAF Championship.

Wondolowski is beginning his third year with the Houston Dynamo and also played in both games of the quarterfinals when Houston defeated Puntarenas from Costa Rica. The Houston Dynamo won the Major League Soccer Championship during the 2006 season, which rewarded the team with a berth in the Club Championships of North and Central America.

His parents John and Joanne Wondolowski have lived in Danville for the past 20-plus years. Chris was drafted by the San Jose Earthquakes and then was relocated to Houston when the Franchise was moved. He is beginning his third year as a professional with the Houston Dynamo of Major League Soccer.
