Barbara and Harold Hubinger

Barbara and Harold Hubinger celebrated their 50th anniversary with their family on a trip to Sydney, Australia, in November 2006.

Barbara graduated from Wayne State, and Harold graduated from the University of Washington. Harold entered the Navy and became a pilot, then worked at IBM where Barbara was also employed. They were married May 11, 1957, in Michigan and honeymooned in Niagara Falls.

The couple has lived in Danville for 38 years. They have also lived in Walnut Creek and in Lansing, Mich. They have two children, Chris Hubinger Peters of Pleasanton and John Hubinger of Orinda; and four grandchildren, Casey Peters, Ian Peters, Evan Hubinger and Jeremy Hubinger.

Barbara has held a variety of volunteer positions including past president of the Museum of San Ramon Valley and with the Danville Police Department, which named her Volunteer of the Year in 2006.

Harold has also held many volunteer positions; he currently holds a regional level position with SIRS and is working on his second travel book. They travel extensively, have been to 111 countries on six different continents, and helped establish a medical missionary clinic in Nepal.
