Council welcomes back Marine Evan Vigil

Evan Vigil of the U.S. Marine Corps was recognized by the Danville Town Council as part of the Sentinels of Freedom Program - Operation Welcome Home at the May 1 meeting. About 25 veterans showed up to honor Vigil.

The council recognizes individuals from the community who have served our country upon their return from active duty or graduated military academy to thank them for their service and sacrifice. The program began March 3, 2004, and 38 men and women have been honored. If you know of any Danville residents who are returning military service members, contact Rochelle Flotten at 314-3328 or e-mail rflotten@ci.danville.ca.us.
