What's the best film you've seen lately?

I don't watch that many movies, but I saw the one about Johnny Cash with Joaquin Phoenix, "Walk the Line." It's nice when actors and actresses portray real life figures. I found out that he and Reese Witherspoon both really sang in it. They were acting with pulps of their own personalities - real aspects of themselves.

"Magnolia." I like the way the story intertwined and the symbolism. It also has a soundtrack by Aimee Mann that fit the mood of the scenes. All the people who acted in it really gave themselves to the part. Tom Cruise played a ridiculous character but it was believable and John C. Reilly was great as the insecure cop.

Michael Scott

We saw "Babel." It made me think we're all so much alike even though our circumstances may be different. We all have the same feelings - the same needs. It was beautiful, intense and fast-moving.

I saw the animated version of "Charlotte's Web" and it was very nostalgic for me. It brought back memories because I hadn't seen it since I was a kid. It came out in the '70s, but I remembered some of the scenes so vividly. They were indelibly marked.

Eric Hayes

actor, director

It was called "Black Book" and it was about the Dutch resistance in World War II, how they helped the Jews escape. It was a little gory but very well done. I like history and it was like a history lesson.
