County honors Danville volunteer

Contra Costa County seniors honored recently for caring about their peers included Christa Brazier, who has been a volunteer driver for the Town of Danville for many years. She was recognized at the fifth annual Mary Shockley Memorial Award for Outstanding Service ceremony May 22.

The keynote address by Arlene Phillips of John Muir Senior Services was titled "a Day Without Seniors," and highlighted the crucial community needs filled by seniors who volunteer.

The awards were sponsored by the Central Contra Costa County Senior Coalition and Pleasant Hill Senior Center.
