Degnan named Outstanding Business Woman

Carolyn Cooper Degnan will be honored as one of three 2007 Outstanding Business Women on Sept. 9 by the American Business Women's Association (ABWA) Bay Area Council and eWomenNetwork at a luncheon to be held at the Wyndham Hotel in San Jose.

Degnan, a graduate of Drake University, is a board member of the San Ramon Valley Education Foundation and the YMCA. She is also involved with the National Charity League (NCL), San Ramon Valley Unified School District, Danville Area Chamber of Commerce, and is an active patient advocate for the California Lyme Disease Association (CALDA).

As current president of the San Ramon Chamber of Commerce, she provides programs, events and seminars such as the Women's Networking Lunches. Past accomplishments include chairmanship of the Primo's Run for Education. The other two women being honored are Donna Garrison, a Realtor from Pleasanton who is one of the founders of the California Independent Film Festival, and Pamela Torliatt, mayor of Petaluma.
