Downtown d'Elegance

The third annual Danville d'Elegance, a free upscale car show fundraiser for Parkinson's Disease, will add some class to downtown Sunday. The event is slated for noon to 5 p.m. Sept. 30 along Hartz Avenue, and more than 175 Ferraris, Lamborghinis and other exotic cars will be featured.

The event benefits the Parkinson's Institute and is run by volunteers, headed by Jim and Chris Edlund, owners of Christe James Fine Jewelry Works in Danville. All proceeds will go to the Institute, a research facility dedicated to developing a cure for Parkinson's Disease.

This year the event will have a racing paddock for historical and vintage racers as well as tastings from Northern California's premier wineries along with participation by some of Danville finest restaurants. There will also be a silent auction, music and drawings. Last year Danville d'Elegance raised almost $100,000, and this year organizers expect to surpass that amount.
