Streetwise

Asked around downtown Danville

What is your greatest extravagance?

Work is my greatest extravagance; I spend a lot of time on it. I love what I do. It demands a lot out of me. It benefits me, too.

Barbara Rogers

owner of the Body Adventure on Front Street

My corvette is my greatest extravagance. We do open road racing. We spend a lot of time and money racing. It's a blast. It's a hoot.

Jim Stewart

retired engineer

I spend a lot on my kids. They need clothing, food, money on daycare, and healthcare.

Shawn Sheykhi, shown with son Dean, 18 months

banker

My greatest extravagance is traveling and my kids. I like to take trips. I like foreign travels. The Euro is strong and the dollar weak. Traveling is expensive. College education for my kids is costing more and more. Between the rent, books and tuition, it all adds up.

Janet Lopus

employee at Girlfriends on Hartz Avenue

My grandchildren. I just love them and nothing is too good for them. I shower them with clothes and shoes.

Suzette Burdt

grandmother
