Holiday Hugs for the troops

The Blue Star Moms will collect items in Danville tomorrow to prepare packages to send Holiday Hugs to U.S. troops overseas. The Moms will be in front of the Veterans Memorial Building on Hartz Avenue at Prospect from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, collecting individual-sized Tuna or Chicken Creations, beef jerky, fruit snacks and more. For ideas, visit www.bluestarmoms.org. Cash is always welcome to help with postage.

The Blue Star Moms also have "special projects" designed for groups to package snacks into plastic bags. Details are on the Web site, or telephone Debbie Burrow at 408-6763.
