Shoplifters nabbed at Costco

Police caught two young adults allegedly shoplifting at Costco on Fostoria Way last week in Danville, said police Sgt. Troy Craig.

Police cited a 19-year-old Moraga man and a 19-year-old Orinda woman on charges of petty theft. The suspects are accused of taking six DVDs and denim jeans from Costco at 5 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 30. The store security officer saw the man put three DVDs in his pants, and woman put the other three DVDs and the jeans in her purse, according to reports.

When they left Costco, the security officer confronted them, Craig said. The suspects admitted to taking the items. Police arrived and cited them on charges of petty theft. They were then released.

"Especially this time of season, the temptation is already out there for a quick take for thieves," Craig said. "They need to realize that there are plenty of people watching them and it's going to catch up to them."
