Michael John Grady, a resident of Danville, passed away Nov. 2 at the age of 62 after a brave battle with lung cancer.
He was born Jan. 14, 1945 in Kansas City, Kan. He earned his B.S. degree from the University of Kansas in 1968, and achieved his Juris Doctorate from the University of Kansas School of Law in 1972.
After practicing law for 24 years, he retired to the Ozark mountains in Garfield, Ark., where he enjoyed sailing on Beaver Lake and serving as fireboat captain with the NEBCO Volunteer Fire Department.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Kerry and John Sullivan of Weymouth, Mass.; his sister Margaret Grady Davis of Danville; and niece and nephew. He was preceded in death by his son, John M. Grady, and the mother of his children, Mary L. Beavin. A memorial service was held in Topeka, Kan., on Nov. 16.
