Holiday fun in Alamo

Santa was the honored guest at the Alamo Tree Lighting Festival on Sunday evening, and San Ramon Valley High cheerleaders Nicole Dias and Caitlin Summers lent a hand to kiddies climbing on Santa's lap to tell their wishes.

Joe Combs, awards chairman of the Alamo Merchant and Professional Association, which hosts the festival, announced that Dick Delfosse, owner of Richard's Arts and Crafts, was Alamo's Business Person of the Year. Delfosse did the lighting honors, switching on the new colored lights to illuminate the old oak tree after a countdown by the San Ramon Valley High School cheerleaders.

Everyone enjoyed free hot beverages, pizza and cookies and music by local school choirs.
