A white male suspect estimated to be in his 20s walked inside the bank at 2:40 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 4, and gave a note demanding money to a teller, said police Sgt. Kevin Daley. He exited out of the bank's back door - with an undisclosed amount of cash.
"We are still working on it," Wenzel said. "We are trying to get some positive IDs. There are some fingerprints."
The suspect has dark hair and is thin. He wore a gray sweatshirt and black pants at the time of the robbery. Approximately seven police officers from the Danville and the Sheriff's Office arrived at the scene.
No one was injured, and there were no customers present during the robbery.
"They were all frightened," Daley said, about the bank staff.
He urged witnesses of bank robberies to avoid confronting robbers.
"Just be good witnesses and get descriptions," he said. "Obviously, call 911, and don't try to stop them."
Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call the Danville Police Department at 314-3410.
