San Ramon wins title at Coliseum

The San Ramon Valley High School football team continued its victorious season all the way to the top - winning the North Coast Section 3A Championship Saturday night at the Coliseum in Oakland.

The Wolves, led by quarterback Joe Southwick, beat Cardinal Newman-Santa Rosa, the champions of the Redwood Empire, at a final score of 38-28. The Wolves defense is also credited with stopping Cardinal Newman's star quarterback Max Pond.

San Ramon Valley's season record was 12-1-1. Its only loss was to cross-town rivals Monte Vista.
