San Ramon was determined to win and they did so when Wolves quarterback Joe Southwick completed a 79-yard pass to Bryce Peterson. The Wolves then ended the game 43-36.
San Ramon defense played a major role in shutting down the Mustangs' offense. The Wolves forced three fumbles and picked off MVHS quarterback Brett Nottingham four times, combining for a total of seven turnovers. Southwick was on fire, completing 21 of 30 passes for 446 yards and four touchdowns, as well as a key interception with just under three minutes left in the game.
SRVHS now continues on into the NCS semifinals, competing against No. 2 Pittsburg on Saturday, Dec. 6, at Dublin High School. Foothill defeated Freedom, 48-41, on Nov. 29 and now faces De La Salle. The winners of these two games play in the NCS Division I championship
