'We're No. 1!'

The San Ramon Valley High girls varsity soccer team clinched its fourth consecutive North Coast Section 3A title when it beat Foothill High in sudden death overtime Saturday night, 4-3, held at Dublin High. The Wolves were the No. 2 seed in the NCS playoffs and the Foothill Falcons were the No. 1 team in the nation, only allowing five scores against them in the rest of the season.

The Falcons, who were undefeated up until this final game, were leading 3-1 late in the second half before the Wolves came roaring back to tie and take the game to overtime. The hero was sophomore Allie Begin scoring the golden goal with less than five minutes remaining in the second overtime. You can officially call the San Ramon girls soccer team a dynasty, winning an astonishing four consecutive NCS titles.
