Ready, set, start reading on Monday

Contra Costa County Library's Summer Reading Program, which takes place June 8-Aug. 17, is offering great prizes for adults. Readers ages 18 and up are invited to be "free2create" by submitting a book review online at or at their local library for a chance to win a booklover's bag full of goodies, one night stay at the Renaissance ClubSport Hotel or dinner for two at Stanford's Restaurant in Walnut Creek.

Children ages 2 through fifth-graders can tap into their artistic side and "Be Creative" for fun treats, and students in grades 6 to 12 are encouraged to "Express Yourself" with a chance for prizes including a Nintendo Wii.

The program includes a Baby Reading Program, too, for babies birth to 2 years of age. Learn more at the Danville Library, 400 Front St.
