An unidentified male bicyclist suffered minor injuries June 23 after colliding with an automobile at the intersection where the Iron Horse Tail crosses Greenbrook Drive.

Danville Police Lt. Mark Williams said the accident occurred around 9:15 a.m. Two vehicles were stopped at the crossing, to allow a pair of pedestrians walking north on the trail to cross the street.

After they crossed, the motorists starting moving and one of them collided with a bicyclist riding on the trail. A witness said the cyclist did not stop for the stop sign at the trail crossing.

The cyclist was knocked down, suffering injuries to his shoulder and hip. An ambulance from the San Ramon Fire Protection District was summoned to the scene and took the injured man to John Muir Medical Center for treatment.

Williams said the name of those involved in the incident will not be released pending the completion of the investigation. No citations were immediately issued as a result of the crash.
