Diablo Views: Goodbye to a man of Alamo

Original post made on Sep 5, 2008

A few months ago - April 18 to be exact - we ran a story on Roy Bloss, a man who has been an Alamo activist in the five decades he made it his home. He was proudest of his work to keep Danville Boulevard two lanes when the county wanted to make it four - whew! thank heaven for Roy and the others who fought this ill-conceived idea.

Thank you, Dolores, for your tribute to Roy Bloss and might I suggest you repost his guest opinion on the Forum in tribute to his many years of rational consideration of our region's voice in government.

A special thanks by Diablo Vista (Alamo) region neighbors goes to Ms. Beverly Lane, once again, for all she does, but especially her "bon voyage" to Roy. Many, many Alamode'ans have moved away and still participate in various e-exchanges, and I would hope that Ms. Lane would be Roy's continuing exchange with our region.

Delores, thank you for such a nice article on my father, Roy Bloss. The good-bye event at the Museum of San Ramon Valley was very touching and I was so pleased to meet the many wonderful people in the valley who appreciate the importance of preserving history. I also learned a lot more from them about how my father contributed to this effort throughout his 53 years in Alamo. Many thanks to Beverly Lane and all the wonderful people at the museum and the historical societies for this meaningful tribute to my dad.
