White Gate residents: Want to know your history?

In September of 1856, Charles and Nathaniel Howard purchased a 160-acre property two miles east of sunny Alamo which became the Howard farm. They built a colonial style house that accommodated both families. Much later a family member dubbed the home White Gate.

Many thanks to Beverly Lane for her research and article. I have been a White Gate resident for nearly 22 years (It was part of Danville when we first moved into the neighborhood!) We love living here and enjoyed reading its history.
