Diablo Views: 'You have the right to do nothing'

Original post made on Jun 5, 2009

A little white card arrived in my mail last week. At first glance, it seemed to be from Costco and I thought it must be time to renew my membership. Then I looked more closely. Right above my address, it read: "Important information about a class action settlement."

Dear Dolores,

We look upon our Costco membership as admission to entertainment. We seldom spend enough at Costco each year to warrant membership, but we enjoy our visits just the same. Various food tastings, listening to pitchmen, and just watching all those carts stacked with large containers of this or that, is all part of an entertaining visit to Costco.

Most often we walk about in Costco on a weekend afternoon and leave without any purchase. That's entertainment!!

Hal

Mr. Baily, when it comes to telling stories, you go to the head of the class...a real story teller your are. Forget about Costco being entertaining...Your new handle should be Mr. Entertainment. Most all your of your community comments are very entertaining. Well today is Monday...5 more days and you get to revisit the Costco the largest entertainment center in San Ramon...have fun.
