Who should be the new Danville Council Member?

Original post made by Hal Bailey, another community, on Sep 20, 2009

Dear Dolores,

This morning, Danville neighborhoods' e-exchanges in the Diablo Vista region north of Diablo Road are discussing who should replace Mike on Danville's Town Council. Very interesting commentary has discussed Bev Lane as an immediately qualified council member to complete the last year of Mike's term.

There were many ideas and individuals to be considered, but one point repeated. The individual should have significant background on boards and commissions and only plan to complete Mike's term without further political ambitions. Wonderful people were discussed such as Marianne Gagen and Joe Combs to complete Mike's term.

What are your readers' thoughts on Mike's replacement?

Hal

If Bev Lane would agree to serve the expired term, we would be very lucky.

"...and only plan to complete Mike's term without further political ambitions."

Why is that important?

Mark Curtis should be appointed to fill the opening. He is extremely well respected, is bipartisan, and was a friend of the late Mike Shimansky. Appointing Mark Curtis would be a nice tribute to Mr. Shimansky and his family and friends, and he would do an excellent job in serving our town.
